With the Challenge Gran Canaria, the first big European race in a long time will take place this weekend. We are rooting for all the athletes and especially for the organizer and hope that everything will go well.
We now have five weeks left until the premiere of Challenge St. Pölten. For you as an athlet it is getting more and more exciting. The training is slowly but surely entering the final phase, the swimming pools are still closed and the lakes are mostly too cold. We hope that the good weather of the next days will continue and soon the first open water trainings will be possible. We know that it will be hard for many of you. But never forget, it is the same for everyone. All AG-athletes standing together with you at the starting line had the same challenges and difficulties in training during the last months. Our offer that you can easily re-register for the Bike-Run until 14 days, is still valid. Yes, it is not the same. But to be there is everything! Because we will hopefully write a piece of history on May 30th and make a loud noise in the triathlon scene.
Our prevention concept is constantly adapted to the regulations and measures of the government. Currently, access to the whole area is only allowed with a negative test result for athletes + one accompanying person. In addition, a mask must be worn everywhere. The EXPO will be outside the bubble and accessible to everybody. Cool brands like Jolsport, Sailfish, Enervit of course our bike service partner will be on site and equip you with the latest material. All regulations can be found here! We will inform you about any changes by mail. We know that there is a lot of information and especially a lot of mails coming your way. But we think it is important to update you regularly, so that nothing stands in the way of a smooth implementation.
In the meantime you should have received all information about entry into Austria and registration by mail. All forms and links can be found here. Please go through it step by step and make sure that you have registered and filled out everything. Yes, that is a lot of form stuff. But it is very important!
A very dear athlete sent us some information about the return journey to Germany. This is for Bavaria, but maybe you will have luck with your authorities by knowing these things. Unfortunately, we cannot influence the quarantine regulations for the return journey. The following conditions are currently valid for the EQV Bavaria: Basically you have to register before or at entry to Germany/Bavaria under the following link: https://www.einreiseanmeldung.de. In addition you have to do a PCR or antigen test again in Austria, which must not be older than 48h when entering Germany. According to the EQV Bavaria you then fall under the exemption of § 2 para. 3 sentence 1 No. 5 EQV Bavaria and were accordingly invited by a federation or an organizer to this competition. This is also how the Austrian authorities handle it. Therefore you have to carry the invitation, the negative test result and the entry registration with you when entering the country. Of course the EQV Bavaria rules can change again until the end of May, because the current version is only valid until 09.05.2021. However, if Austria or Lower Austria is no longer considered a risk area by then, the quarantine obligation will no longer apply anyway. To be on the safe side, please ask your local authorities. This information was sent to us by an athlete.
For all those – your family, friends and biggest fans – who unfortunately cannot come along this year, we have also thought of something. The ORF will broadcast the race 4h live and so you watch it at home all over Austria from your living room via your TV. But also beyond the borders you can follow the race via live stream. Where we will stream, we will tell you in time.
We wish you a successful preparation in the last weeks. Feel free to send us photos of your training via Instagram or Facebook or tag us in your posts. We’ll be happy to share that to spread the positive vibes a bit more and to be able to transfer your motivation to many other athletes! See you soon!
