Corona Update
The current situation is difficult for all of us. But we are still optimistic and on track with our preparations. That means YES – we are planning with a race on May 30th, 2021. We have already gained a lot of experience last summer. A strict prevention concept will ensure that all athletes, officials, helpers and spectators are safe.
How we will proceed
The whole area (=start & finish area, registration, EXPO) will be completely segregated and access will only be possible with an official, current and negative COVID test (antigen test). Regarding control of the tests, we are in exchange with a provider who will make it possible to check the tests through a simple app. In addition, the minimum distance (2m) must always be maintained. The swim start will be planned as a single start. The whole area including the transition area at the soccer field offers enough space to always keep the necessary distance.
Side events like Pasta Party, Race Briefings and Award Ceremony will unfortunately not be able to take place due to the situation. The traditional big tent will therefore not be available this year. But we have already thought about something for that:
We will send you the race briefing digitally and you will have enough time to familiarize yourself with it.
Instead of the Pasta Party, there will be another culinary surprise for you – stay tuned!
Also for your post-race food we have already an idea: A larger weather-protected area will be located right next to the finish line. Also there you have to keep the minimum distance. Basically, we are always committed to the regulations of the Austrian federal government and it is a great concern for us that these are followed. What does that mean?
Masks: Depending on the current regulations, masks may be mandatory (indoors or outdoors). This must be observed. We will provide you with an overview of the regulations in sufficient time before the race. Relevant information will also be posted on site.
Catering & EXPO: Currently the gastronomy in Austria is closed. We are positive that it will be open by the end of May. If it is possible, a catering tent will be set up. There will be different food and drinks available for purchase as in the last years. It is possible to reserve a table. You will receive information about this in time. Attention! The places will be limited.
From today view (March 2021) the EXPO can take place regulary.
Please note that these are rough plans that we are constantly developing, adapting and perfecting. Detailed planning and final decisions can only be made once there are guidelines from the Austrian government regarding events in May. Furthermore we depend on the further steps of the government concerning hotel and gastronomy openings.
Please, have a little patience with us. We are really doing everything we can to make it work. We are in active exchange with the Austrian Triathlon Federation and the Ministry. We are also in contact with the city of St. Pölten and the state of Lower Austria. The general mood of all concerned is optimistic. We assume that a triathlon as an outdoor event will be possible with sufficient distance at the end of May.
If, contrary to expectations, the race has to be cancelled, we will follow the Austrian laws regarding transfer or refunds (as we did in 2020).
